Taking place under the iconic Tower Bridge, Feria De Londres is set to bring the vibrant and lively celebrations of Andalusia to the banks of the Thames this May Bank Holiday. Inspired by the traditional festivities of Andalusia’s colourful spring fairs, such as the famous Feria de Abril in Seville and Feria the Jerez, Feria De Londres will be a weekend of delicious Spanish tapas, beer, wine and live entertainment, never seen before in the capital.

Spanish Ferias began in the Middle Ages principally as livestock fairs, at which villagers would celebrate with plenty of feasting and Sherry drinking. Recreating these colourful fairs, Feria De Londres see brightly decorated ‘casetas’ line the banks of the Thames crammed with all kinds of Spanish fare, including typical tapas dishes such as Tortilla de Patata, Gazpacho, Jamon Ibérico and Pimientos de Padrón as well as delicious barbequed seafood and meats, and moreish Churros and Buñuelos.

Drinks on offer will range from beautiful Spanish wines and all kinds of sherries to refreshing Spanish beers and cocktails, including the traditional Rebujito - Manzanilla sherry with lemonade, ice and mint leaves.

Throughout Feria De Londres, in the spirit of the original Ferias, entertainers will be dressed in their finest traditional costumes and regional dress, such as the hat, short jacket and tight trousers ‘traje corto’ for men and the flamboyant flamenco style dresses for women.

Taking place over one of London’s busiest weekends, Feria De Londres will be a celebration of Andalusian dancing, music and live entertainment, with bands and local Flamenco artists and special guests coming over from Spain to create an authentic party atmosphere. Londoners and visitors alike will be encouraged to fully enter into the fun with Sevillanas and Rumba dancing lessons, and tap into the raw beauty and rhythmic emotion of the Flamenco with clapping and castanets workshops. In true Spanish style, Feria De Londres will be an event for all the family, and throughout the weekend, there will be children’s activities including face painting, hair styling, art and dancing.

The first of its kind, Feria De Londres will be a unique and free event that invites Londoners and tourists alike to experience firsthand the warmth, vitality and excitement of some of Spain’s most famous celebrations.
